Well, it wasn’t a trade, per se, more of a measurement of athletic intellect between me and an email pal, a college professor who shares a love of baseball and arguing.
It was sometime shortly after Martinez was injured this summer and was done for the season. My friend suggested that it was time to trade him. I countered that Martinez, falling short of expectations yet again, no longer held any real value for another team.
