Sunday's local late-night TV lineup has a whole new look with the addition of two sports programs, one a throwback and the other a newcomer that are competing head to head.
It's a return to the heydays of Channel 5's sports department, which has brought back the once-popular "Sports Plus" show. And Channel 2 has unveiled a program featuring one of the most recognizable sportscasters in St. Louis, Dan McLaughlin.
Both have debuted this month and air at approximately 10:30 p.m., though there have been delays caused by NFL playoff coverage. The shows join a busy field, as KMOV (Channel 4) also has expanded late Sunday night sports coverage and KTVI has a meaty sportscast before McLaughlin's feature-oriented presentation begins.
