Media Views: It's been a decade since the Cardinal Carnage decimated KTRS

The 10th anniversary of St. Louis radio’s Cardinal Carnage, one of the biggest bloodlettings in St. Louis broadcasting history, looms.

It was a decade ago Wednesday when most of the on-air personalities at KTRS (550 AM) were notified — just before the holidays — that they were being fired. It was part of the makeover of the station in which the Cardinals had purchased a 50 percent stake. The team had final say on key issues, including programming, as part of the deal to move their game broadcasts to the station following a half century at KMOX.

On the way out were many well-known local broadcasters, including Bill Wilkerson, Wendy Wiese, Randy Karraker, McGraw Milhaven, Kevin Horrigan, Jim Holder and Scott St.
