Lou Brock recovering after surgery

Cardinals Hall of Famer Lou Brock is resting in a local hospital following surgery of an undisclosed nature, according to a spokesman for the Brock family.

The spokesman said that after a "reasonable recovery period, family members expect him to resume normal activities."

The family requests that well-wishers send their greetings to Sounds of Heaven Ministry, 231 Fox Hill Road, St. Charles, Mo., 63301.

Brock, 76, is a member of the 3,000-hit club and holds the National League record for stolen bases at 938, including a league record 118 in 1974.
