WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jordan Hicks’ last three pitches of Monday’s win were captivating, overpowering and practically unhittable. They were also a signal of just how far the Cardinals reliever has come since the middle of April when the conversation swirling around the right-hander was whether he still had a place in the club’s bullpen.
