- The offense hasn't been good enough against pretty much everybody for a while. You'll remember that the Cardinals didn't exactly hammer the Reds before their trip West. If they can fix that a little before the playoffs, they still have a chance because, in recent history, the team that has the best and deepest bullpen normally prevails in playoff series and the Cardinals have the deepest bullpen in the league. Now, that assumes their starters can keep them in the game before it gets to the bullpen.
