Another St. Louis star gets bounced.
On July 6, the St. Louis Cardinals will celebrate "John Goodman Night" at Busch Stadium — including the dispensing of bobblehead figures in the actor's likeness.
"The hardest part is trying to act cool through this huge honor," Goodman said in a statement. "So I want to let the Cardinals and Cardinal Nation know that I'm using this opportunity as a one-pitch tryout to make the big club."
A graduate of Affton High and (then-Southwest) Missouri State University, Goodman is best known for playing Dan Conner on TV's "Roseanne," and for his superior supporting turns in several Coen Brothers movies.
