In the ever changing world of Minor League Prospect rankings, future Card JJ Wetherholt is now the No. 5 overall prospect and new President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom seemed pretty adamant that Wetherholt will get a chance to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster once camp begins.
“He’s impressive and he’s got a chance to be really good,” Bloom said of Wetherholt. “We’re looking forward to seeing what he does in [Spring Training] camp, because he’s in a position where he can come in and make a really strong impression and start his big league career sooner rather than later.
