PHOENIX • That .480 average next to Aledmys Diaz's name as the Cardinals arrive Monday at Chase Field for a four-game series would seem to suggest a promotion is in order, one that moves him up in the lineup from the eighth spot in the lineup.
"See who is in a good spot and try to make it last as long as we can," manager Mike Matheny said. "I just haven't seen an urgency to put (Diaz) some place else. He's a young player. When you have a young player in a spot when it's working, let's not complicate matters.
