The Cardinals are fast-approaching the postseason and fast-approaching decisions about their roster. In that context, outfielder Matt Holliday starts in left field and bats third against the Cincinnati Reds tonight at Busch Stadium III.
Holliday will be making his first start since re-injuring himself in the first inning of a game with the same Reds at Busch on July 29. Upon grounding to third base, he tore his quadriceps for the second time this season while running to first base.
