In most news stories about the Golden State Warriors, they mention baseball's St. Louis Maroons. I'd never heard of them. They played in the Union Association? Yep, never heard of that, either.
But as we keep hearing that the 1884 St. Louis Maroons, for literally more than a century, held the record for most wins by a team to start a season – 20.
And Wednesday night, St. Louis was in the news again, because the NBA's Warriors tied the Maroons' mark, with their 20th win in 20 tries this season.
