The most-ardent Cardinals fans entered Busch Stadium two hours before game time Saturday, outlasted a two-hour and 56-minute rain delay, too, and watched a two-hour and 42-minute game … to see two hits.
They’ve won just two of their past 10. And the run totals in six of those losses are like a binary code: 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1.
But, if you can believe it, the Cards are still in a pretty good place offensively. Amid the recent frustration, there are signs of confidence. Results? Not many good ones in the last 10 games. But at least some signs – beyond the 17-run splurge in Thursday’s game, the Cardinals’ only win in the past five.
