Gordo: More Cards shuffling produces same sad result

The Cardinals spun their oversized personnel wheel spun again Tuesday, moving players here and there to give their roster and a lineup slightly different looks.

Alas, this latest whirl did not change their home-field fortunes. The Cardinals stumbled to another spirit-sapping loss at home, 5-2 to the injury-depleted Pirates.

Hot-hitting first baseman-outfielder Brandon Moss hobbled onto the disabled list with a sprained ankle, creating an opportunity for exiled outfielder Randal Grichuk to return from Memphis.

Handyman Jedd Gyorko got another start at first base, then slid over to third base when Jhonny Peralta exited the Pirates game after three innings with a sore thumb.
