Goold: La Russa can stop fretting now as unstoppable Red Sox win World Series

The Boston Red Sox completed an unprecedented run in their franchise’s history with a 5-1 victory Sunday against the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series. By clinching the 114th World Series, four games to one, the Red Sox hoisted their fourth championship in 15 years. They won 11 of 14 playoff games and finished the year with 119 wins. In less than four weeks they went from good to great – to one of the greatest.

Lefty David Price burnished his redemption tour with the finest playoff start of his career as he turned Steve Pearce’s first-inning homer into enough of a lead to win the World Series.
