JUPITER, Fla. • Dexter Fowler tripled, driving in a run, for his second hit of the game and then he scored the go-ahead run on s single by Jhonny Peralta as the Cardinals passed the Washington Nationals at 3-2 in the third inning in the final exhibition game for the Cardinals here this spring.
Kolten Wong singled to open the third and, after Michael Wacha struck out trying to bunt, Fowler plugged the left-center-field gap to score Wong.
Aledmys Diaz popped up for the second out but Matt Carpenter walked and Peralta singled for his third hit in his last four at-bats over two games.
