Dylan Carlson scratched from lineup due to elbow soreness; Adam Wainwright takes on Mets

First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. St. Louis time at Citi Field in New York.

Outfielder Dylan Carlson, hit twice by pitches on Friday night, experienced some ongoing discomfort and stiffness in his left elbow ahead of Saturday's game and had to be scratched. Carlson was originally in the lineup, and late Friday he said the elbow was tender. The pitch struck a nerve, causing the pain and numbness.

He tested the elbow during warmups Saturday, experienced the stiffness in his throwing arm, and the Cardinals had to make a late change to lineup.
