JUPITER, Fla. -- Adam Wainwright will not make his scheduled start against the Nationals on Sunday, a club official confirmed.
No reason was given for the scratch, but Cardinals manager Mike Matheny is expected to address Wainwright's status later this morning.
The Cardinals borrowed right-hander Jordan Hicks from Minor League camp to start in Wainwright's place.
