The promotion of Tommy Edman has inserted Irving Lopez into the AAA infield mix, at least for the time being. It’s been quite the rise, really, considering he was a 17th rounder in 2017 and has vaulted two levels a year since hitting full-season ball last year. In that time he’s never posted below a 117 wRC+ at a stop while proving he has the game to stick at second base.
