Cubs pounce on Wacha for six runs in first inning

A 3-1 lead wasn't enough for the Cubs on Monday night at Busch Stadium. Now they'll find out if they can make six runs in the first inning stand up with Jason Hammel on the mound against the Cardinals.

A wild Michael Wacha was rocked for six runs and five hits, including three doubles, to open the game as the Cubs jumped to a 6-0 lead before the Cardinals got to hit.

It appeared Wacha might escape by allowing two runs. But a two-out line drive hit by David Ross to straight-away center field went off the glove of Randal Grichuk for a two-run double to make it 4-0.
