Starting pitching was a major issue for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2025 as the staff finished near the bottom of the league across the board in end-of-the-year statistics. With that in mind, Chaim Bloom set out to improve the pitching development from the draft and in trades, which he has been able to accomplish early in his tenure as President of Baseball Operations.
