After pinch hitter Greg Garcia, batting for spotless starter Jaime Garcia, walked to open the bottom of the seventh, Matt Carpenter, facing Arquimedes Caminero, drilled his 21st homer of the season into the Pittsburgh bullpen in left center as the Cardinals stretched their lead to 4-0 at Busch Stadium.
