CINCINNATI • Seeking to add a bat and jostle the clubhouse all at the same time, the Cardinals promoted Chad Huffman to the majors.
The move reunites boyhood friends and former TCU teammates Matt Carpenter and Huffman. It's the second reunion Carpenter has had today.
He's also reacquainting himself the lineup spot that made him an All-Star.
Huffman comes from Class AAA Memphis and had to be added to the 40-man roster, taking up one of the open spots. To make room on the active roster, the Cardinals returned reliever John Gant to the Triple-A Redbirds.
