Cards notebook: Ponce de Leon goes tonight, Wacha expected back for next Tuesday's start

In the meantime, Daniel Ponce de Leon, still seeking his first major-league victory, will start Tuesday night here against Milwaukee. Ponce de Leon, who was 2-0 at Memphis and who threw seven no-hit innings in his first big-league start at Cincinnati in July, will be activated before Tuesday’s game, with another roster move likely to be made to accommodate him although center fielder Harrison Bader (strained right hamstring) can come off the IL on Wednesday.

Bader and fellow outfielder Tyler O’Neill (elbow nerve issue) are taking batting practice. Bader will stay here and work out until he is activated.
