PHILADELPHIA • As the Cardinals speed Greg Holland back from the minors for a second time this season, the former All-Star realizes his deed on the ninth inning has lapsed, but he has an idea where he’d like to fit in the bullpen’s musical chairs.
“I just like getting big outs,” the veteran righthander said. “That’s where I’m comfortable — in uncomfortable situations. At this point in my career, I’m just worried about helping my team. That’s my job description. The inning or anything like that, isn’t.”
Holland joined the Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park on Monday, and he expects to be activated as early as Tuesday.
