If the Cardinals-Giants game Tuesday was a thing of beauty, a 1-0 pitchers’ duel played in a crisp two hours, 11 minutes, with solid play all around, the game on Wednesday was most definitely not. It didn’t look like there were two different teams. At times, it was hard to believe it was the same sport.
With no lead safe and no out a sure thing, the Cardinals and Giants exchanged haymakers and staggered to the finish line. At the 2:11 mark this time, the game was in the sixth inning. There were 28 hits, two errors, four wild pitches, two triples, four home runs and 13 pitchers between the two teams.
