ST. LOUIS -- One strange play resulted in the only run the Cardinals produced in support of Luke Weaver in a 5-1 loss to the Royals on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium.
Jose Martinez stole home when catcher Salvador Perez attempted picking him off at third, but Mike Moustakas dropped the ball. The official ruling on the field was a steal of home. The Cards didn't get power from the bats, so they ventured to stealing bases. After that early steal, a couple of unsuccessful attempts later by Yairo Munoz, who finished with four hits, put them in a hole.
