ST. LOUIS • A few hours after their left fielder Matt Holliday sustained his second leg injury of the season, the Cardinals moved swiftly to complete a deal with Cleveland that brings them lefthanded-hitting outfielder Brandon Moss.
The deal was confirmed Thursday morning by The Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz.
The Cardinals sent lefthanded prospect Rob Kaminsky to the Indians for Moss, 31, who can play the outfield and first base. Kaminsky place in the deal was first reported early Thursday morning by SB Nation.
Moss has hit .217 with a .289 on-base percentage.
The Cardinals have sought power for the lineup, or at least for bench at the trade deadline.
