Cardinals prospect Garcia steals home to tie game

ST. LOUIS • A lot like Magneuris Sierra, who is now turning heads and testing arms in the majors, Cardinals Class AA outfielder Adolis Garcia has the speed to burn on the bases and is trying to learn what teammates call "the savvy."

On Mother's Day, he showed the moxie.

In the seventh inning of the Springfield Cardinals' game against Seattle's Arkansas affiliate, Garcia took his lead off third. Teammate Anthony Garcia stood at second, and catcher Gabriel Lino was at the plate. Lino took a ball -- high -- from pitcher Blake Perry, and as former second-round pick and catcher Marcus Littlewood flipped the ball back to the pitcher.
