PHILADELPHIA • If the Cardinals have learned anything this month about playing the worst team in the National League it's that they can wait around long enough and the Phillies will sabotage themselves.
Ripping pages right out of the Cardinals' approach to some games this season, the Phillies committed a heinous baserunning error in the bottom of the ninth inning and an error in the 10th inning. The concert of those missteps allowed the Cardinals to pull away for a 7-6 victory Wedneday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Cardinals never led until an error brought a run home in the 10th.
