A good portion of the preseason speculation concerning the Cardinals was who would play first base and how much firepower would emanate from the position. Matt Adams made his 12th start there Thursday. Brandon Moss has made 11 although Moss finished up at first base when Adams suffered what appears to be a minor left leg injury.
Collectively, the pair has 10 homers and 24 runs batted in although three of the home runs and six of the RBIs have come as Adams and Moss have pinch hit and Moss also has delivered power as an outfielder. But the system seems to be working.
