For one of the rare times in their overlapping careers but the second time in a month, Wainwright and Scherzer will pitch opposite each other, this time at Busch Stadium in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series. During more playful times, such as spring training, they’ve been known to swap trash talk in text, with Scherzer once sending Wainwright a video from The Matrix of a main character giving a “come get me” gesture. Wainwright enlisted Scherzer, a Parkway Central grad and Mizzou great, as an early participant in his Fantasy Football for charity initiative.
