JUPITER, Fla. — For a long time in beer-happy St. Louis, it was not Miller time. Nor is it now with the Cardinals.
Infielder Brad Miller has been out for a week with lower-back inflammation.
“He’s still a couple of days away from being seriously considered to play in a game,” said manager Mike Shildt.
Lefthander Andrew Miller has pitched just once this spring, and not very effectively at that, and wasn’t able to pitch when he tried to last Monday. But Miller did throw what he called a “light” bullpen session on Saturday and said “it was better than it was the other day.
