Cardinals Draft Third Baseman Jordan Walker 21st Overall

With their first (and only) pick of the evening, the Cardinals selected third baseman Jordan Walker as the 21st overall pick of the 2020 MLB Draft.

The 18-year-old Walker hails from Decatur High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and signed a letter of intent with Duke back in the fall. The right-handed-hitting Walker was named Georgia’s Gatorade Player of the Year for 2020, after hitting four homers and batting .457 in 16 games this year. Last year, his junior year, Walker hit .519 with 17 long balls and 43 runs scored for the Decatur Bulldogs.
