Cardinals add former All-Star Tyson Ross

The Cardinals announced on Sunday that they had claimed right-hander Tyson Ross off waivers from the Padres, and that the former All-Star will join them in Miami for their series against the Marlins next week.

Ross, who is 6-9 with a 4.45 ERA over 123 1/3 innings across 22 starts, is on a one-year, $1.75 million deal. He had been speculated as a potential trade chip for a contending club ahead of the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline.
