Brewers' Yelich becomes sixth to homer in first four games

With his fourth homer in four games, Yelich, with his first-inning drive, gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 1-0 lead over Michael Wacha and the Cardinals on Sunday. Yelich became just the sixth player to homer in each of his team’s first four games, joining San Francisco’s Willie Mays, the Cardinals’ Mark McGwire (1998), Texas’ Nelson Cruz, Baltimore’s Chris Davis and Colorado’s Trevor Story.

Michael Wacha, who was off to an 8-2 start last season before suffering a strained left oblique while swinging the bat — he is an .080 career batsman — will make his first regular-season appearance since June 20 when he faces the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday in the finale of a four-game series.
