The Cardinals have promoted their top hitting prospect, Stephen Piscotty. He'll presumably have a chance to put in a claim for first base.

As you might imagine I have a few thoughts on that:
1. It makes sense to see what Piscotty can do as the Cardinals ponder their roster composition before the trade deadline. After recently moving from right field to first base to prep for his first major-league assignment, Piscotty apparently made a relatively smooth transition.
