Baseball charity disputes Cardinals suit over ticket sales

ST. LOUIS • A youth baseball charity sued by the St. Louis Cardinals over scalped tickets has used all its funds properly, its president said in an email assailing the suit.

Nicholas Mahrt, listed as president of the Lewis & Clark Baseball Leagues, sent an email late Tuesday night to the Post-Dispatch, taking exception to allegations in the suit that tickets provided at a discount were sold online above face-value price in violation of a contract with the Cardinals.

The suit, filed last week in St. Louis Circuit Court, names the Leagues of Extraordinary Gentlemen Inc.
