Against Minnesota's 'Bomba Squad,' Cardinals' trio of Kim, Ponce, and Reyes throw zeroes

FORT MYERS, Fla. — What Kwang Hyun Kim started, Daniel Ponce de Leon continued, and Alex Reyes, increasingly cast as a reliever this spring, finished.

Sparked by Kim's three scoreless innings and extended by Ponce de Leon's five scoreless, the Cardinals defeated the Minnesota Twins, 3-0, on Monday at Hammond Stadium in Lee County, Fla. Reyes handled the ninth inning of the exhibition game, and his scoreless inning merited him a save in the box score.

Bookended by Kim's superb start (see below) and Reyes' ninth, Ponce de Leon continued to make his case for the rotation conversation.
