The 89th annual Midsummer Classic has arrived, and I for one am just glad the contest no longer determines home field advantage for the World Series. Now we can overtly have fun and stop pretending that anybody actually took this exhibition game seriously. More fun is good!

Yadier Molina will represent the Cardinals in Washington D.C., replacing the injured Buster Posey. Miles Mikolas was selected to the NL roster as well, but he is missing the All-Star festivities to spend this time with his wife, Lauren, who is pregnant with twins and went into labor earlier than anticipated.
