The Cardinals plan to honor the 2011 World Series champions in person sometime this summer at Busch Stadium. But the 10-year reunion of the club’s most recent title got off to a flying start Friday night in a six-player, rollicking Zoom gathering to kick off the team’s Winter Warm-Up.
Such heroes of the time as David Freese, Lance Berkman, Allen Craig, Kyle McClellan, Jason Motte and Ryan Theriot were on hand to roll back in time and roll out the memories. None of the six still is playing and though it’s just been 10 years, not a Cardinal remains on the active roster from the club’s last World Series championship roster.
