199! Uncle Charlie inches closer to milestone with 5-2 win over Orioles.

Tonight’s game at Camden Yards pitted two great stories against each other on the mound. John Means — a 2019 All-Star who also has a no-hitter under his belt — made his first start since April of 2022. He’s been recovering from Tommy John Surgery for well over a year now. Adam Wainwright has been horrendous this season, but Uncle Charlie still has an opportunity to end his career on a high note by snagging wins 199 and 200 in September before he retires.

Here are the lineups for the Cardinals and Orioles in game two:

Cardinals:

  1. Lars Nootbaar, RF
  2. Tommy Edman, CF
  3. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
  4. Nolan Arenado, 3B
  5. Willson Contreras, C
  6. Tyler O’Neill, LF
  7. Nolan Gorman, 2B
  8. Jordan Walker, DH
  9. Masyn Winn, SS

Adam Wainwright - SP

And the Orioles:

  1. Adley Rutschman, DH
  2. Gunnar Henderson, SS
  3. Anthony Santander, RF
  4. Ryan O’Hearn, 1B
  5. Cedric Mullins, CF
  6. Austin Hays, LF
  7. Adam Frazier, 2B
  8. Jordan Westburg, 3B
  9. James McCann, C

John Means - SP

Wainwright wasn’t perfect by any means, and he had to dance around quite a bit of traffic on the bases.
