The St. Louis Blues started their season-opening road trip with two wins — one over the Colorado Avalanche, 5-3, and the other over the Arizona Coyotes, 7-4. Neither win was the prettiest we’ve ever seen, but a win is a win.
Last Saturday, the Blues didn’t get rattled, even though the Avalanche almost tied the game 4-4 late in the third period. Perhaps the Blues’ bonding trip calmed their nerves while they faced their division rivals who swept them in the first round of last season’s NHL playoffs.
Fast forward to Monday night, where the Blues played the Coyotes while Monday Night Football was still in progress.
