Ken Hitchcock has been moving line around this entire season. This has to do with injuries to key players, as well as a struggling offense for the St. Louis Blues.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we even saw David Backes on the first line again even when everyone is healthy. I know that wouldn’t be popular with most St. Louis Blues fans, but Hitch is trying anything he can to inject some life into the struggling offense that has scored just 1 goal in each of the last 3 games.
The Blues may have come away from one of those games with a point (a shootout loss in Brooklyn against the Islanders), but scoring 1 goal per game just won’t pay the bills.
