Ivan Barbashev was a second-round pick by the St. Louis Blues in the 2014 NHL entry draft. He cracked the NHL roster in the 2016-2017 season, playing in 30 games and registered 12 points and five goals.
He was able to stick in the NHL a little longer the following year, playing in 53 games but only registering 13 points last year. Barbashev has had trouble cracking the Blues forward lines consistently but he has played well enough so far this season to stick around all year.
Barbashev has been a key part in the Blues success on the penalty kill and has played well enough on the fourth line to warrant his sticking around in the lineup.
