Report: Sobotka will stay in KHL

Blues forward Vladimir Sobotka has decided to play a second season in the Kontinental Hockey League, according to a Russian website.

Hawk.ru is reporting that Sobotka has notified his KHL club, Avangard Omsk, that he will return for the 2015-16 season.

Sobotka, whose NHL rights are owned by the Blues, had a two-week window in which he could have opted out of his deal with Omsk and returned to St. Louis. But according to the reports — which have not been confirmed by Sobotka's agent, Petr Svoboda, or the Blues — he plans to stay in Russia.
