As opposed to the current wrangling between Major League Baseball and the MLBPA, the NHL’s making progress toward the start of their playoff season. The NHL’s PR released the following statement today announcing a return on July 10th:
For the 24 playoff teams, a return to action is tentatively scheduled for July 10th. It’s important to note the league’s caveat in there concerning safety and health concerns as well as the caveat that it’s pending official approval by all parties. Having a date and a goal is important for preparation sake, but it’s still important to take conditions in cities into consideration, especially with COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations on the rise.
