As part of every preseason, Kraft donates $150,000 worth of arena upgrades and $15,000 worth of equipment to one small town who wins their Hockeyville competition. Part of this award is a pre-season hockey game. In 2017, the Blues played the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in Belle Vernon, PA. The Blues won that game, 4-1.
In April, it was announced that the Blues would participate again, this time in Calumet, MI. They’ll be facing old rivals in the Detroit Red Wings, and this time, the Blues are the defending Cup champions.
