ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed defenseman Carl Gunnarsson to a three-year contract extension worth $8.7 million.
Gunnarsson, 29, has dressed in 62 games for the Blues this season, tallying seven points (two goals, five assists), 27 penalty minutes and a +6 rating.
The Orebro, Sweden native was originally acquired by the Blues via trade from Toronto on June 30, 2014. During his tenure with the club, he has appeared in 123 regular season games, accumulating 19 points (four goals, 15 assists), 29 penalty minutes and a +16 rating.
