Blues sign Keean Washkurak

The St. Louis Blues signed forward Keean Washkurak to a three-year, entry-level contract on Tuesday. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement.

The Blues originally selected Washkurak with the 155th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He’s a 5-foot-10, 185-pound center.

Washkurak spent the majority of the 2020-21 season in Levice, Slovakia, playing for the HK Levice of the Slovak 1. Liga. He recorded 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) and 110 penalty minutes in 21 regular season games and 26 penalty minutes in four postseason contests.

Before playing overseas, Washkurak played three seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League.
