ST. LOUIS - Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock acknowledged Tuesday that forward Scott Gomez had been placed on waivers.
Gomez has played in 21 games with the Blues this season, registering one goal and seven assists, but has played in only three of the Blues' last 11 games. In those appearances, he's filled in on the team's energy line.
“When we went down with all those injuries (early), he was good,” Hitchcock said Tuesday. "It’s not fair for him to come and play a role he’s never played before. Hopefully somebody picks him up and he can play a Top-6 or Top-9 role and have that support.
